Last week, I found a monarch caterpillar in our backyard munching on some butterfly milkweed. I took some pictures to share with my students, and told them I would definitely bring our new caterpillar friend to school. I finally brought Mr. Caterpillar in on Monday with some food, and a nice big tank to call his temporary home. This morning, I found Mr. Caterpillar upside down on the top of the tank lid! He was preparing to make his chrysalis. I was hoping that he could wait for the kids, so they could watch nature at its best! Thankfully, my block 2 students had the opportunity to watch this amazing transformation. What now you ask? We wait for Mr. Caterpillar to become Mr. Butterfly.
Here are some pictures to share in our experience!
