Writing About Reading...Loser

Today you will be writing about the prompt below. Your writing should reflect your reading of the book Loser by Jerry Spinelli

Make a list of things you remember about different teachers you've had and what was different about each grade. Does any year or teacher stand out? Why? How do you think Zinkoff would have felt if he was in your class?

Today, I would like you to comment on this post. I am giving you several options today. In the future, you might have a specific idea or topic to write about. Today can be a free write: you could write about your spring break, tell a story, whatever you choose. OR you could write about the picture on this blog post for today.
Remember DO NOT use your name on your comment. Use your initials and your block number, My initials for block 1 would be, CVL1

Also, remember to write about and share ideas that are school appropriate.

Happy writing!

And We're Back...

We are back after a lot of delays and snow days! Yikes! We have been practicing writing to a prompt. We spent some time working on getting to where we can write for longer periods of time. (Our writing stamina) We have also been working on how we can grade a prompt and how we can get a perfect score. This has been really helpful for everyone and has given us a chance to look at our own writing from a new point of view.

In the upcoming weeks we will start reading the book, Holes. Character traits will be a big part of this round of our book study. We will read and complete the character study for this book during ISTEP week.

Also coming in March will be the Slice of Life Challenge! I am so excited for this challenge. The kids will love it, too I am sure.
